9 inch HD IPS Portable Touch screen Wireless Carplay Android Auto

This is an excellent product to upgrade the existing factory pcm3.0 system. Took it carefully as didnt want to scratch the car, so it probably took 2.5 hours from start to finish. It works great and has really improved the system. Autoabc checked i had AUX available before shipping.

Technology moves so very quickly. So when we added a 2010 BMW 128i convertible to our garage, NOT having CarPlay was simply unacceptable. I came upon this AutoABC unit because it claimed to do just what we wanted: CarPlay and a larger, brighter touch display in the BMW. The price was more than right (you can pay less if you look around, but also a LOT more if you buy the same thing from a US vendor). The package arrived within just three days: Display with housing, wire harness, USB cable, AUX cable, some clamps, and a fairly brief color manual that was good, but still suffered from translation.

Installation was, depending on how adept you are with doing stuff in cars, fairly simple or quite involved. It definitely pays to watch YouTube vids on how to go about taking things out of the BMW dash. And routing all the cables through the guts of the BMW…. brrrr. Still I got all that done in a few hours (and also installed a backup camera while I was at it — highly recommended).

I did encounter one hardware problem: the housing/adapter of the new 10.25-inch display did not fit all the way into the OEM display cutout on top of the BMW dash. I had to widen the cutout in a couple of areas. And there are no instructions on how to secure the whole thing onto the dash.

Anyway, the Linux-based system boots up very fast, like six seconds (supposedly much faster than Android-based units). The interface looks great, and CarPlay works great. Having a backup cameras was great. Just one problem: initially I didn’t have CarPlay sound. The car radio worked fine, but anything from CarPlay only had sound on the iPhone. It took me quite some time to figure out how to get it to work. The secret is to connect the CarPly system wirelessly to the iPhone Bluetooth and Wifi, but NOT the car’s own Bluetooth! The manual did not make that whole process clear.

One thing: the big screen sticks out much more than the BMW’s dim OEM screen. If you can live with that, this is an awesome, inexpensive way to get CarPlay and the Android equivalent into an older car.

The package arrived in good time and well boxed, PCB in antistatic bag and jiffy bag so well protected. All items seem to be good quality, fitting instructions probably the part to complain about, could do with a video link to show the install process. I would not tackle the job if your noy happy about electronics and dismantling your PCM 3.0. Seems to be to all working so far and quality of sound is good except on apple maps, just needs tweaking I think.

With 3g getting turned off, updateing to car play to use phone navigation is a must. Works very smoothly and flawlessly.

Exactly as described I ordered the NBT system fortunately these guys check before they ship as I had the CIC unit so they rectified and sent the correct one first time. I highly recommend them.

I am surprisingly satisfied with the product, it is working great, boot times are very fast and connecting to carplay is very fast as well. Downside would maybe be that there are no available apps to download (Linux) and the options are quite limited but it is working great for the price. Installation was also pretty easy to manage and took me about two hours total. They did forget to send me the bracket in the first box but it was resent within a week, so overall good communication and very satisfied with the product.

Works better than I expected. I assumed Android Auto would be wired only, like other versions i saw online, but this unit works with Android auto wirelessly!

Installation was easy*
Took well under an hour to get it all hooked up and tested. But i ran into issues finding room behind the radio for the big square harness connector; I couldn't get it to sit flush. I had to modify the stock plastic radio support bracket to get that big square connector out to the side of the radio instead of directly behind it. I didn't have space because of some HVAC ducting, but this was more of a BMW problem.

I've used it for under an hour now, but I'm very happy with it so far. The unit seems very responsive, and it looks sleek and stock! Would definitely recommend
